Why Purili is the only truly private search engine

"Private search" is a crowded claim. Here is exactly what Purili does differently - and why the distinction matters.

We never see your searches

Every query runs directly from your browser to our search API. We don't log what you search for, who you are, or when you searched. There is no user account, no session ID, no fingerprinting.

No tracking cookies, ever

The only cookies Purili stores are your own preferences - language and SafeSearch settings - and they stay in your browser only. We don't use analytics SDKs, ad pixels, or any third-party scripts that report back to anyone.

No ads, no incentive to profile you

Google's entire business depends on knowing who you are so it can charge advertisers more. Purili has no ad revenue. That removes the economic pressure to collect data in the first place.

Our own index, no middlemen

Many "private" search products still depend on an upstream commercial search provider for part or all of their web results. Purili crawls the web itself with its own Rust-based crawler and serves results from its own index. No third-party search API touches your query.

Open infrastructure

Purili runs on dedicated server infrastructure with no cloud analytics, no CDN that logs requests, and no SaaS tooling attached to user traffic. The server logs contain IP addresses for 24 hours for abuse prevention, then are rotated.

Clear operating model

We keep the privacy claim grounded in how the service runs: no third-party search API, no analytics scripts, no ad stack, and short-lived server logs used only for abuse prevention.

The short version

Purili stores nothing about you. Searches never leave our server in a form that identifies you. There is no business model that depends on your data. That is the only foundation a private search engine can actually be built on.
